Visit to Alton

After FoSMAG hosted Alton's Friends of the Curtis Museum and Allen Gallery last year, they're returning the favour by inviting FoSMAG members to Alton for a guided tour of the Museum and Gallery on Wednesday 19th June 2024.

Programme:

• 10:30-11:00 Arrive for tea/coffee.
• 11:00-11:45 Split into two groups for Museum/Gallery tours.
• 11:45 Comfort break (cold drinks available).
• 12:15-13:00 Museum/Gallery tours in two groups continue.
• 13:00-14:00 Lunch (bring your own, or purchase from the Gallery).
• 14:00:15:30 Whole group town walk for those who'd like to join.
• 15:30:16:00 Tea/coffee before departure.

Accessibility:

• There are displays on the ground floor and first floors of both venues, access is by stairs. 
• Unfortunately, there are no lifts. 
• Some parts of Alton are quite hilly.

Travel:

• You'll need to make your own way to and from Alton on the day.
• Tim (FoSMAG Chair) has four car spaces available, driving from Southampton Civic Centre.
• The nearest car park is in Victoria Road, GU34 2DB.

Booking and Paying:

• This event is for FoSMAG members only, £10 a person.
• There are 15 places available, on a first come, first served basis.
• If many more wish to come, Tim (FoSMAG Chair) will keep a waiting list in case of cancellation.
• If there's a lot of demand, we may organise a second trip in the future.
• To reserve a place, please email the Chair.
• Payment instructions (by cheque/BACS) have been circulated to all members via email, but please contact us if you have any questions!
