About the event

Join us for a tour of the Everyone Involved exhibition at God's House Tower in Southampton's Old Town! You're very welcome to stay for lunch at the GHT cafe afterwards.

Everyone Involved is an exhibition by Ian Giles, commissioned by 'a space' arts, running 23 August to 27 October 2024. It comprises an immersive installation and film highlighting the song 'A Gay Song' composed by Alan Wakeman and Michael Klein. The song was a track on the 1973 album Either/Or by the band Everyone Involved, just 6 years after the partial decriminalisation of homosexual activity between men in England. Ian has got the original band back together to re-record the song, 52 years after its inception as one of the earliest LGBTQIA+ protest songs.
