About the event
FoSMAG warmly welcomes the award-winning contemporary artist Andrew Holmes to give our April 2024 illustrated talk. He'll discuss his work, exploring the relationship between motor vehicles, cities, modernity, and an oil-hungry civilisation.
Andrew's work, spanning over fifty years, encompasses hyper-real pencil drawings, photography, film and design. Accompanied by a series of intense images and visual effects, his talk draws parallels between the work of the artist Albrecht Dürer and the writer John Bunyan with contemporary popular culture - in particular, the passing world of the trailer park, the motel and the freeway.
