A talk by Gordon Massie. The story behind the creation of the Palace of Versailles by Louis XIV, the history of the house, a tour of the gardens, and an insight into the lives of the three kings who were resident until the French Revolution of 1789. Adam Manning (Chair of Friends of Weston Shore) will speak about beautiful Weston Shore, one of the few places in Southampton where people have access to Southampton Water. The Shore is a place rich in wildlife, and is an important designated Site of Special Scientific Interest as a habitat for migratory birds. Adam will also be looking at the rich cultural heritage of the area.   Cost £4 (Fosmag members) / £6 (visitors)
