A talk by Gordon Massie. The story behind the creation of the Palace of Versailles by Louis XIV, the history of the house, a tour of the gardens, and an insight into the lives of the three kings who were resident until the French Revolution of 1789. This will be the first event to be held at our new venue in the Dolphin Hotel (Jane Austen Room) Cost £4 (Fosmag members) / £6 (visitors)

Richard Eurich – A Personal View

Richard Eurich was an English painter who worked as a War Artist in the second World War. He was also known for his panoramic seascapes, and narrative paintings. His daughters Philippa Bambach and Caroline Martin will recall memories about their father and family life, and show some Eurich paintings that are not well known.

Following the AGM and coffee, Daniel Crow (Director of aSpace Arts) will update us on major progress with the God's House Tower project. When re-opened, GHT will become a new arts & heritage venue in Old Town Southampton, featuring exhibitions that show work from the city's designated collection alongside the work of contemporary artists, that combine to interpret and represent the stories of GHT.
